Better PA is a C4 advocacy organization with a focus on issues that affect working class voters in Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking to hire a Deputy Director (DD). This is a full time remote position with occasional travel fully covered by the organization. The DD must reside in Pennsylvania or agree to relocate within 30 days of hire.
We are in search of an experienced coalition builder with a deep understanding of Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate has a strong drive to succeed, but is not afraid to fail.

Proficiency in the following systems required: GoogleSuite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Canva, NGP VAN
Salary and Benefits:
$70,000 with 6 month and 1 year review.
Health benefits and robust PTO package including 11 Federal holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year, as well as half day Summer Fridays.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Executive Director (ED) to coordinate and implement the organization’s advocacy and relationship building with individuals, institutions, public officials and other decision-makers with the goal of building coalition and alignment to achieve policy and campaign goals
- Work with established organizing partners to support joint campaign demands and ongoing work.
- Work with ED and team to build and implement campaign plans around the issues currently within Better PA’s focus. Work to help find gaps in capacity and resources in the statewide landscape and strategize how to support filling those gaps when possible.
- Represent Better PA at coalition/council tables when needed.
- Provide administrative support when needed (examples, note taking for meetings, meeting setting, file management).
- Support the organization's communication and social media needs.
- Lead internal research.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5- 7 years of experience in organizing, campaign building, or general political experience in Pennsylvania.
- Demonstrated track record of building relationships across lines of difference and finding alignment with possible partners and allies.
- Ability to think both ‘macro’ (big picture, long-term campaign strategy) as well as ‘micro’ (helping think through the everyday decisions that move a campaign along).
- Self-starter, creative, highly motivated, ability to juggle multiple tasks and campaigns.
- Experience facilitating meetings.
- Experience with social media creation and management.
- Proven advanced level of cultural competency.
- A deep understanding of the value of discretion.
